The peace treaty
The Antichrist will start and win a conflict with Egypt
that will result in a peace treaty:
"I will hand the Egyptians over
to the power of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them,"
declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty.
(Isaiah 19:4)
At the time of the end the king
of the South [Egypt] will engage him in battle, and the king of the North
[the Antichrist] will storm out against him with chariots and cavalry and
a great fleet of ships .... Egypt will not escape. He will gain control
of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt ...
(Daniel 11:40-43)
With a large army he [the Antichrist]
will stir up his strength and courage against the king of the South [Egypt].
The king of the South will wage war with a large and very powerful army,
but he will not be able to stand because of the plots devised against him.
Those who eat from the king's provisions will try to destroy him;
his army will be swept away, and many will fall in battle. The two
kings, with their hearts bent on evil, will sit at the same table and lie
to each other, but to no avail, because an end will still come at the appointed
time.
(Daniel 11:25-27) |
This peace treaty will affect Israel. God warns
Israel to never make a peace treaty with its neighbors:
Do not make a covenant with
them .... Do not let them live in your land...
(Exodus 23:32-33)
Be careful not to make a treaty
with those who live in the land ... or they will be a snare among you ....
Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land...
(Exodus 34:12,15) |
I strongly beg Israel to never make a peace treaty.
Obey God by not making a treaty. Obedience is the only way to stop
the horror that is prophesied to happen!
If at any time I announce that
a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if
that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict
on it the disaster I had planned.
(Jeremiah 18:7-8) |
Unfortunately, Israel will be involved in such a treaty.
As a result, things will seem very good, but they will later become horrible!
As a result of this treaty,
Israel is made prosperous and wealthy, and totally defenseless! Also
because of this treaty, it is considered to be a time of peace and safety:
... Ah, Sovereign LORD, how
completely you have deceived this people and Jerusalem by saying, "You
will have peace," when the sword is at our throats.
(Jeremiah 4:10)
After many days you will be called
to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered
from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains
of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out
from the nations, and now all of them live in safety .... On that day thoughts
will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme. You
will say, "I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful
and unsuspecting people -- all of them living without walls and without
gates and bars. I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against
the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock
and goods, living at the center of the land."
(Ezekiel 38:8-12)
While people are saying, "Peace
and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on
a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
(1 Thessalonians 5:3) |
The peace treaty will be
a seven-year treaty. We can know this with certainty because many
parts of the Bible speak of the treaty's length in years, or in months,
or in days. If only one part of the Bible talked about years, we
might wonder whether they were literal or figurative years. But,
if some parts say it is so many years long, and other parts say it is so
many months, and still other parts say it is so many days; and they each
add up to seven years, then we can know how long the treaty will be.
Seven literal years! Here is the proof: The peace treaty will
be "seven" units of time long, and will be broken half way through:
He will confirm a covenant with
many for one "seven." In the middle of the "seven" he will put an
end to sacrifice and offering ....
(Daniel 9:27)
... the envoys of peace weep
bitterly .... The treaty is broken, its witnesses are despised, no one
is respected.
(Isaiah 33:7-8) |
The evil ruler will exercise power for 3.5 years,
or 42 months, or 1290 days:
.... The saints will be handed
over to him for a time, times and half a time [or for a year, two years,
and half a year].
(Daniel 7:25)
One of them said to the man clothed
in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long will it be before
these astonishing things are fulfilled?" The man clothed in linen,
who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left
hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying,
"It will be for a time, times and half a time [or a year, two years, and
half a year]. When the power of the holy people has been finally
broken, all these things will be completed."
(Daniel 12:6-7)
The beast was given a mouth to
utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two
months.
(Revelation 13:5)
From the time that the daily
sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set
up, there will be 1,290 days.
(Daniel 12:11) |
Notice that the above prophecies are all talking about
the same duration of time: One year plus two years plus half a year
is three and a half years. Forty-two months at twelve months in a
year is exactly three and a half years. 1290 days, assuming a 365-day
year, is three and a half years and twelve days. Even if we use more
ancient lengths for a year, we still get about three and a half years.
(For example, a 360-day year, which is unlikely, still would calculate
into three and a half years and one month).
As I showed above, the peace
treaty will be for seven units of time, and will be broken half way through.
Three and a half times two is exactly seven years. There will be
a seven-year peace treaty, but after only three and a half years, half
way through the treaty, the Antichrist will break this treaty.
